Vilac

The world’s prettiest wooden toys are made in the French Jura Mountains. Here, in Moirans-en-Montagne, the toy manufactory Vilac has been producing cars, puzzles and musical instruments for more than a century. Surrounded by forest, the 2000-head village boasts plenty of raw materials. At the same time, Vilac combines tradition with contemporary approaches. Designs are timeless; some lines incorporate styles by the likes of Keith Haring, Nathalie Lété or Yoshimoto Nara. Vilac sells playful craftsmanship that will feel just as vibrant and contemporary in 50 years.
