It was the seminal Antwerp 6 that kindled Christian Wijnants’ interest in fashion. “I was 13 years old when the group rose to fame in the mid-1980s. And I knew straight away that this was what I wanted to do”, Wijnants explains. No sooner said than done, he apprenticed under his heroes Dries van Noten and Raf Simons, then set out on his own in 2003. Now, he keeps the pioneering spirit of Belgian fashion alive: His knit collections have already won all major fashion awards.
