Officine Generale is a young-at-heart-label with plenty of tradition. Before launching Officine Generale in 2012, the brand’s founder and designer, Pierre Mahéo, spent many years working in a range of international fashion houses. Yet the label’s roots reach much further back: One of Pierre Mahéo’s grandfathers was a tailor, the other an oyster catcher. And while the former would never leave the house without an impeccably tailored suit, the other felt right at home in chinos, striped cotton shirts and weather-proof coats. With these two archetypes of sea and countryside in mind, Pierre Mahéo now designs men’s collections that are very much contemporary and of our times.
